10 Yr MS Diagnosis Anniversary
Sunday was my 10-year MS diagnosis anniversary, so I got a custom piece about this life. I had it done on the same leg I struggle with because of MS-caused drop foot.
The tattoo is a line from Mary Oliver:
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Wildflowers wrap along one side. One bud still yet to blossom.
I am not finished blossoming. The rest of the meaning is pretty simple.
Living with a chronic illness — and surviving that accident and traumatic brain injury — has made something very clear to me:
Life is precious.
We get one.
And I almost lost it.
I’ve had some wild adventures. And I want to keep doing this wildness thing.
I will not let these challenges tame me. Because wildness is part of who I am.
Wild like riding bikes across deserts and running around mountains.
Because at the end of the day…we get one.Sunday was my 10-year MS diagnosis anniversary, so I got a custom piece about this life. I had it done on the same leg I struggle with because of MS-caused drop foot.
