About Run with MS

I’m Justine —an endurance athlete, ultrarunner and gravel rider, social scientist by training, writer and speaker, and the voice of Run With MS.

For nearly a decade I’ve been living, running, and riding with multiple sclerosis — a disease that affects the brain and nervous system and can change how a body moves through the world.

When I was diagnosed I went from runnning a marathon to struggling to walk, so I had to rebuild my brain and body, and asapt my goals.

In 2024, a bicycle accident left me in a coma with a traumatic brain injury — a diffuse axonal injury — and a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 3 (lowest possible score). When I woke up, I had to rebuild my brain, my body, and my life, again.

Running became part of how I found my way back — first from MS, and then again from a traumatic brain injury.

Run With MS is about endurance, resilience, and determination. About living fully in a body that asks for adaptation. I want that for all of us.
