Chicago
Sometimes I go back to Chicago in my mind.
I still remember the quiet, lonely stillness as I lay awake at night in the hospital.
Glad that girl knew how to recover because she’d already done it once before with MS. What an unlikely hero, that MS.
When I was first diagnosed, someone once told me, very plainly, “People say if you have MS, your life is over.” That’s it.
That thought never crossed my mind.
Not even once.
I didn’t think my life was over.
I thought, I have a new life to learn how to live now.
It’s my 10th year living and running with MS, and I’ve got big goals.
